The Pittsburgh Penguins Release Unfortunate News On Multiple Players
The Pittsburgh Penguins are facing more injury setbacks amidst their current struggles on the ice.
Forward Jansen Harkins, who sustained a concussion after a hit from Winnipeg Jets center Adam Lowry during Saturday's game, has been placed on Injured Reserve.
In addition, Kris Letang left practice early after getting "nicked up," and Evgeni Malkin
Head coach Mike Sullivan didn't confirm if reinforcements would be called up from the AHL affiliate Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins, stating,
"We're going to see how we do here day-to-day. I'm sure Kyle [Dubas] will make the necessary to give us the best roster to put on the ice."
Amidst the injury news, there's a glimmer of hope as forward Noel Acciari, recovering from a concussion, skated prior to his teammates at the practice facility in Cranberry.
Currently sitting second to last in the Metropolitan Division, the Penguins are seven points out of a Wild Card playoff spot, with the next game against the Florida Panthers at PPG Paints Arena on Wednesday night.
