The Penguins Are On The Verge Of Hiring Jaromir Jagr To Executive Position
The saying "time heals all wounds" might just ring true for the Pittsburgh Penguins and NHL icon Jaromir Jagr. After years apart and careers that took them in different directions, a reunion seems to be on the horizon.
Josh Yohe, who reports on the Penguins for The Athletic, suggests the Penguins are looking to bring Jagr back into the fold, this time eyeing a position for him within the front office. It seems the team is eager to have Jagr, hoping to leverage his extensive hockey knowledge and experience.
«The Penguins want Jagr to be an employee moving forward. I'm not sure what role. I think they'll take what they can get the more of Jagr's presence and hockey mind that he's willing to share, the better.»
Jagr's journey in hockey is nothing short of legendary. Drafted by the Penguins in 1990, his career boasts two Stanley Cups, stints with nine NHL teams, and ownership of a team in Czechia.
His potential return to Pittsburgh, a city he still calls home, would not only add a vast wealth of experience to the Penguins' operations but also serve as a strong link to the team's proud history.
As Pittsburgh contemplates its future and possibly a team rebuild, Jagr's involvement could prove to be a significant advantage. His precise role remains undefined, but at 52 years old, with 1733 NHL games, 766 goals, and 1155 assists under his belt, Jagr's return to Pittsburgh could herald a new chapter for both the legend and the team.
