Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins are currently in the midst of contract talks, and fans are curious about whether or not Crosby will finish his career with the team.

According to insider Frankie Corrado of TSN, a lot of this could boil down to whether or not the team has real hopes of making it to the postseason. In the eyes of Corrado, they are in a position to do so. In fact, their division is wide open which could provide a path for the Penguins to surprise some people.
«It's hard to believe that in "now or never mode" we are not going to see Sidney Crosby playing in the playoffs as a member of the Penguins,» Corrado said. «And this year specifically, the Metro is a little more wide open. Outside of the Rangers, and the Devils need to take a significant step,» Corrado said. «The Islanders aren't overly exciting. Carolina might take a step back. The Washington Capitals are trying to improve. You can put the Pittsburgh Penguins in that category.»
At this stage of the game, it is more probable than not that Crosby will finish off his career as a member of the Penguins. However, you never really know. Stranger things have certainly happened throughout the course of the NHL's history. Hopefully, for Penguins fans, they get what they want.
«Maybe they have a chance,» Corrado said. «It's now or never for the Penguins, but with Sidney Crosby maybe playing for a few more years, we might see him in the playoffs one more time as a Penguin.»
