Kyle MacLean Shares A Special Moment With His Father After His First NHL Goal
Many NHL players have their dads to thank for introducing them to the game, often sharing the bench as coaches during their early years.
However, as these players progress, Dad usually steps back to make way for more seasoned coaches. This has been my experience both as a child and now as a hockey dad.
In recent seasons, there have been unique occurrences of NHL players and coaches intersecting, and the latest example is the duo of New York Islanders forward Kyle MacLean and assistant coach MacLean.
They've been part of five games with the Islanders this season, and tonight, Kyle notched his first NHL goal, all with Dad proudly watching from the bench.
Witness this heartwarming moment:
That's what it's all about, isn't it?
Whether it's the NHL or not, scoring a goal in front of Dad and earning a 'Good Job!' is what truly matters.
