The Vancouver Canucks and their fans have shown strong support for goaltender Casey DeSmith following Thatcher Demko's injury, so when a questionable play unfolded during last night's game against the Predators, emotions ran high. However, despite outcry from fans, Player Safety's response has been minimal, issuing only a $2K fine.

During the game, Predators forward Michael McCarron collided with Canucks goalie Casey DeSmith while forechecking in their zone, sparking immediate retaliation from the Canucks. The incident was deemed a serious offense against a goaltender, and had there been any head contact, McCarron might have faced a significant suspension. With the Canucks already missing their top goalie, any aggression toward their backup felt like a direct affront.
Filip Hronek wasted no time in confronting McCarron, igniting a heated confrontation that involved the entire Canucks team. The game escalated into a physical battle, with Nikita Zadorov leading the charge with multiple bone-crushing hits and getting under the skin of the Predators' bench.
As tensions between the teams and their supporters fuel a burgeoning playoff rivalry, anticipation is high for game four of the series. The Canucks aim to secure another victory on the road in Nashville, potentially heading back to Vancouver with a commanding 3-1 series lead.
