Jets defender Brenden Dillion suffers gruesome injury after game three
Last night's showdown between the Winnipeg Jets and Colorado Avalanche in game 3 of their playoff series took a dramatic turn as tensions flared on the ice. As the series intensified, so did the animosity between the teams, leading to a chaotic conclusion where players paired off and exchanged punches.
Unfortunately, amidst the heated altercation, Jets defender Brenden Dillon suffered a serious injury. In the closing moments of the game, with the Avalanche securing a 6-2 victory, a brawl erupted, resulting in Dillon apparently sustaining a severe hand injury from a skate blade.
While hockey fights can add intensity to playoff matchups, the circumstances surrounding this altercation raise questions. With the Jets trailing by four goals, the skirmish seemed unnecessary, particularly considering Dillon's injury.
For those with a weak stomach, the sight of Dillon's deep cut and the resulting pool of blood on the ice is very unsettling, as this video shows a close up of the incident.
