Patrick Laine traded to the Montreal Canadiens
Patrick Laine and the Columbus Blue Jackets are headed towards a breakup and there have been plenty of rumors as to which team will be lucky enough to get his services.
One of the teams that has been talked about a lot is none other than the Montreal Canadiens. Kent Hughes is looking for another goal scorer and it is believed that the team would be willing to give up some pieces for Laine. Although the reports had been refuted just last week, a new bombshell has been announced.
According to insider Elliotte Friedman, the Montreal Canadiens have officially acquired Laine from the Columbus Blue Jackets. At the time of writing this, the return for Laine is unknown.
One can only imagine what this trade will look like once all of the details are finalized. No matter what, this is a massive move for the Montreal Canadiens. Hopefully, they don't feel any buyer's remorse on this one.
