In 69 games, he only had 15 points. Moreover, he was voted as the most punchable face in the NHL, which goes to show that his peers do not care for him. Since becoming a free agent, Cousins has yet to be signed by anyone. Time is running out before the start of the season, and it appears as though Cousins is taking matters into his own hands.
According to Frank Seravalli, Cousins has changed agents. He is now with Craig Oster who works for The Hockey Agency. Cousins hopes this will kickstart some contract discussions.
August is always a dead time for the NHL. GMs are on vacation and players are doing the exact same thing. Having said that, it is easy to see why Cousins has yet to get a new deal. Only time will tell whether or not he can get over that hump and finally secure a contract for the upcoming season.
