Two Edmonton Oilers stars hit with offer sheets
Overall, the Edmonton Oilers are in some serious trouble when it comes to the NHL Salary Cap and now, the St. Louis Blues are ready to take full advantage of that.
According to Frank Seravalli, the Blues have hit both Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway with offer sheets. Now, the Oilers must respond in seven days, or they will have to give up both of those players. Needless to say, not an ideal situation.
Holloway is being offered a two-year deal with a cap hit of $2,290,457. Meanwhile, Broberg is being offered the same length but at $4,580,917 AAV. The Oilers are already over the cap, so they probably won't be able to do anything here.
Moreover, the team is already in the midst of trying to sign Leon Draisaitl. Next season, they will then have to sign Conor McDavid, and that is going to cost a pretty penny.
