Maple Leafs inundated with hate after demoting John Tavares

The news was broken earlier today by none other than Darren Dreger of TSN. As we noted, this was a decision that was made with John Tavares' approval, which just goes to show that there were no ill intentions here, whatsoever.

However, as you can see down below, some fans beg to differ. As it stands, the Maple Leafs, Matthews, and Tavares are all receiving a fair amount of hate over all of this. Needless to say, there is going to be a lot riding on whether or not the Leafs may have messed up this offseason. Hopefully, Matthews turns out to be the leader the Leafs believe he can be.
