Columbus Blue Jackets Star Could Be Leaving The NHL For Good
Dmitri Voronkov, the 23-year-old forward for Columbus, is grappling with homesickness, contemplating a return to Russia. Despite an impressive performance with three goals and nine points in 13 games this season, the language barrier is proving to be a significant challenge for Voronkov, who has minimal proficiency in English.
Columbus had initially banked on fellow Russian players like Ivan Provorov, Kirill Marchenko, and Yegor Chinakhov to assist in overcoming this linguistic hurdle.
The team's hope was that a shared language among players would provide a sense of familiarity and support for Voronkov, but the struggle persists, leaving the young forward to weigh the decision of continuing his NHL journey or seeking comfort back home in Russia.
