Insider Reveals That The Calgary Flames Are Looking To Make Massive Moves
A few months back, this would have been hard to believe, but times have changed. According to a recent report by insider Pierre LeBrun, the Calgary Flames are now officially open for trade talks.
While the Flames haven't officially commented, word from the General Manager's meetings suggests that Nikita Zadorov's trade request has prompted the team to consider broader changes.
"At the GM meetings in Toronto, there's a growing sense that the Flames are open to discussions about most of their pending unrestricted free agents. This list includes Zadorov, Elias Lindholm, Noah Hanifin, and Chris Tanev,"LeBrun revealed. Hanifin had been offered a substantial contract extension about a month ago, reportedly in the ballpark of $60 million. However, both the team and Hanifin have now shifted focus, with no interest in pursuing an extension.
LeBrun added, "Now that ship has sailed. For both parties."
If the Flames are indeed willing to part ways with key players, it appears they're entering a phase of significant changes.
