Tage Thompson just set a new record with his ridiculous slapshot

Thompson is trying to do his best with the Sabres, a team that has been bad for years at this point. Having said that, there is a lot of hope that the team can have a monstrous year One thing that is certainly monstrous out here, is Thompson's rocket of a slapshot.

We know this because Thompson just set the record for the fastest shot ever recorded using the NHL EDGE technology. While there have likely been harder shots, this is still an impressive feat. Thompson also put the puck in the back of the net, which is the most important factor in all of this.

Sabres fans will be looking forward to a whole lot more of this over the coming season. Only time will tell whether or not Thompson can have a career-year and finally take this Sabres team out of the stone ages. Although if he does it, he will be beloved for a very long time, indeed.
