In the fast-paced world of hockey, injuries unfortunately come with the territory. Today, it was Buffalo Sabres defenseman Owen Power who found himself on the wrong end of an unexpected mishap during a game.

Scary moment as Owen Power takes a puck to the face

He immediately exited the ice and went to the locker room

Picture this: Power, just doing his thing on the ice, suddenly gets caught off guard when a puck takes an unexpected detour. It all started when Detroit Red Wings forward David Perron attempted a tricky shot from behind the goal line, hoping to bounce the puck off the goalie's helmet and into the net.

But, as luck would have it, the puck had other plans. Instead of hitting its mark, it veered off course and made a beeline straight for Power's face.

Perron tried to bank a shot in off the goalie and hit Owen Power in the face, he was bleeding (no blood in the video)

Ouch! The impact was enough to send Power off the ice and straight to the locker room for some much-needed TLC. Given the nature of the blow, it's safe to say he'll probably be spending some quality time in the dentist's chair in the near future.

As a top pick in the 2021 NHL draft, Power has been making a name for himself on the ice, racking up an impressive record of 12 goals and 69 points in his NHL career so far. But even the best players aren't immune to the occasional mishap. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for Owen Power!
