Buffalo Sabres' latest signing is yet another example of gross incompetence

Peyton Krebs and the Buffalo Sabres have officially reached a deal on a new contract worth $2.9 million over the course of two seasons.
Overall, Krebs was a former draft pick of the Las Vegas Golden Knights and while he has played 215 career NHL games, he has only managed 66 points. Krebs had just 17 points with the Sabres last season and his contract was up for negotiation.
Despite the small salary and short length of the deal, it took the Sabres over two months to finally get a deal done. There were fears that Krebs would not sign, but in the end, they finally made it happen.
Having said that, this latest signing is a demonstration of the incompetence that the Sabres have been operating with for years. A deal like this could and should have been finalized in the space of an afternoon. Not an entire two-month span. One has to really wonder whether or not this Sabres franchise will ever thrive under current management.
Do you believe that this is a good signing for the Sabres? Let us know in the poll down below and stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world.
