Today was a special day as Alexander Ovechkin celebrated his 39th birthday just a couple of days before Washington Capitals training camp.

When Ovi came in today, he had a surprise waiting for him on the bench. As you can see down below, he got to unpack that gift in front of the cameras. He was shocked to find out that the team was using him to unveil their newest jersey for the 2024-25 season. After all, this is the franchise's 50th anniversary so you know they had to show out.

Thankfully, for fans, the jersey in question is the return of the "Screaming Eagle" logo. Moreover, this also brings back the gold, black, and blue color scheme. The fanbase has been begging for these to come back, and now, everyone has officially gotten their wish.

As for when the Capitals will wear these jerseys: "November 6th vs Nashville.- November 29th vs New York Islanders.- December 31st vs Boston.- January 18th vs Pittsburgh.- February 1st vs Winnipeg.- April 13th vs Columbus."

Some fans would probably love for these to be permanent. However, you can't have too much of a good thing. There needs to be at least some moderation shown here.
