The Worst Has Officially Been Confrimed For Buffalo Sabres Defenceman
In a recent announcement, the Buffalo Sabres shared some disheartening news regarding 23-year-old defenseman Mattias Samuelsson.
According to an official release, Samuelsson will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2023-24 season due to an "upper body injury" requiring corrective surgery to address the damage.
This setback adds to Samuelsson's history of injuries during his time with the Sabres. Last season, he missed a total of 27 games due to five different injuries. The current season has already seen him sidelined three times, missing a total of 6 games.
This injury marks the most severe in Samuelsson's NHL career and also represents his lengthiest absence from games thus far.
With this unfortunate development, Samuelsson concludes the season with 41 games played, contributing 1 goal and 6 assists for a total of 7 points. It's undoubtedly a frustrating situation for both the player and the Sabres organization.
