Things are getting chippy between the Boston Bruins and the Florida Panthers in the season opener tonight.

Max Jones and Evan Rodrigues were going at it after the whistle and it turned into an all-out war. Both of these players can get pretty aggressive so it should come as absolutely no surprise that this is what was going on. However, it seems as though Jones took things way too far and it ultimately led to a pretty sad scene for Jones and a poor referee.
As you can see down below, Jones meant to slash Rodrigues in the heat of the moment. However, instead of actually hitting Rodrigues, he hit the ref in the arm who was in a ton of pain following the ordeal. This obviously led to a penalty and a whole lot of embarrassment for Jones.
One has to wonder whether or not Jones is going to get suspended for that. After all, you cannot under any circumstance hit a referee in that manner. Sure, it may have been an accident, but you have to be aware of your surroundings at all times, even in the heat of the moment.
The game between the Panthers and the Bruins has not been going well for the Bruins. As it stands, the score is 6-2 for the defending Stanley Cup champions. Meanwhile, Joonas Korpisalo has not been good as he has allowed six goals on 34 shots. Needless to say, fans want Swayman back.
Do you believe that Jones deserves some type of suspension for this? Let us know in the poll down below and stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite players and teams.
