During the Bruins' matchup against the Philadelphia Flyers, team captain Brad Marchand found himself in hot water after a heated exchange with a referee resulted in a controversial penalty.

Marchand was handed a two-minute penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct following his outburst towards a referee who overlooked a dangerous hit from the Flyers' Erik Johnson.

The incident unfolded when Marchand fell victim to a knee-on-knee hit by Johnson, prompting frustration from the Bruins' captain. Expressing his discontent, Marchand directed his frustration towards the referee for not penalizing the hit.

Video footage captured the sequence:

"Brad Marchand takes a dangerous knee on knee hit from Erik Johnson, chews out the refs for not calling anything, and gets 2 minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct.

As Jack says in the clip, this type of hit ends careers. Don't blame Marchand for losing his cool here.»

Given the severe nature of knee-on-knee collisions and their potential to end careers, Marchand's emotional response is understandable.
