According to The Hockey News, there are three players, in particular, who are about to get put into new situations. Rumors about these players have persisted for months, and it seems reasonable to assume that they could be on new teams before the season even begins.
Trevor Zegras has been embroiled in numerous trade rumors at this point. Just this morning, we reported on him almost going to the Montreal Canadiens. It just goes to show that the Ducks are willing to part ways with him, and it could be happening very soon. That said, it is going to have to be for the right price.
Ehlers is going to be up for a contract next season and the Jets may not be able to afford him. Moreover, if Ehlers wants out and knows it, then a trade makes the most sense. Only time will tell whether or not that is what ends up happening. Although of every player here, he is definitely the least likely to get dealt.
Patrick Laine
Lastly, we have Patrick Laine. This is an obvious one. Both he and the Columbus Blue Jackets are ready to part ways. It is extremely likely that something gets done before the season. However, there is one caveat here, and that is no one actually knows what Laine's market is given his history.
Which of these players do you believe is going to get traded first? Let us know in the poll down below. Additionally, stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world.
