Tonight's Panthers vs. Bruins matchup was a nail-biter, decided by a goal that's sure to be remembered as one of the most controversial of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Trailing 2-1, the Florida Panthers were pressing hard during a power play. It was then that Sam Bennett, the Panthers forward, controversially shoved Bruins centerman Charlie Coyle into goaltender Jeremy Swayman. Bennett then grabbed the loose puck and scored, sparking immediate debate among fans and analysts.

Here's another look at the goal from different angles, underscoring the controversy.

The NHL offered an explanation for the decision to allow the goal, but it did little to quell the frustration felt by Bruins fans and many viewers, who felt the call was blatantly unfair.

That goal evened the score, setting the stage for Panthers' captain Aleksander Barkov to net the go-ahead goal, making it 3-2ultimately the final score.

Now facing a 3-1 deficit in the series, the Bruins are on the brink of elimination and will need something extraordinary to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.
