Beaulieu had 10 fights during his time in the NHL and now, he is bringing that toughness overseas. This week, his team was in preseason action against Avangard Omsk, and it led to an altercation between himself and Mark Verba. Verba is known as a bit of a goon in the league and one would assume that Verba would win the fight with ease.
However, Beaulieu held his own and after a while, he was able to drop the tough guy onto the ice. The crowd that was in attendance loved it, as did Beaulieu's teammates.
It will be interesting to see how Beaulieu plays in the KHL this season. The KHL is the second-best professional league in the entire world, and it has proven to be tougher than some of its players would have imagined. One could look at Nail Yakupov's statistics out in Russia to understand exactly what we mean. Either way, we wish Beaulieu the best of luck in his upcoming season.
