KHL player takes skate to the face in gruesome scene
Overall, the KHL is a league that is immensely popular over in Russia, but many fans in North America don't seem to know much about it.
Having said that, there is no doubt that there is some amazing hockey being played over there. The players are extremely talented and there are a lot of teams that have made massive achievements in the last few years. Today, however, the league went viral thanks to an unfortunate situation involving two players on Sochi HC.
As you can see in the video down below, a player took a puck to the face off of a slapshot. If that wasn't bad enough already, another player ended up having his lip cut by the skate of another player while falling over in the same sequence.
For both Sochi players, it turned out to be a bloody and gruesome scene that probably made a whole lot of fans squeamish. Luckily, both players are actually doing just fine following this ordeal. The fans in attendance were certainly worried, but they can rest easy tonight. Although, plenty of stitches were administered throughout the day.
Hockey is a dangerous sport and this is one of those instances that confirms this to be the case. As a hockey player, it really cannot be easy to always be putting your body on the line. However, the players still dress up every game, which shows you they must love it.
