Sad news is coming out of the hockey world today as former college hockey star Chad Demers has passed away at the age of 33.

The former Air Force Academy star had been battling cancer for six years. He put up an incredible fight.
For those who may not know, Demers played for the Fargo Force of the USHL. Following his career, he got to work with the Air Force Academy of the NCAA where he worked as a coach. He was someone who his players loved, and his teammates and coaches did as well.
"Demers scored 65 (23+42) points in 117 games with the Fargo Force 🇺🇸 of the USHL from 2008-2011, being named captain for his final season. He went on to play for the Air Force Academy 🇺🇸 and scored 126 (48+78) points in 156 games in the NCAA.

Many from the hockey community have come out to speak on Demers and what he meant to them.
"Chad was one of my best friends for over 30 years, childhood friend Kody Stark said. Through all of his struggles the past six years, he still always asked me how I was doing, how my family was. It was never about him. Everything was for the people he loved. You won't find one teammate, player he coached - or coach he coached with - that wouldn't say he was the smartest hockey mind in the room, even with his illness. He was the greatest Spoiler of all-time. I'll remember him always."

This is a horrible loss and our heart goes out to the Demers family during this difficult time. Cancer is a horrible disease and it has taken too many people way too soon.
