Unfortunate news is coming out of the NHL today as it was revealed by Chris Johnston of Sportsnet that Jack Campbell of the Detroit Red Wings has entered the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program.

As you would imagine, the reasoning behind this has not been unveiled and it likely won't be unless Campbell offers that information himself. He was entering what would have been a promising season with the Red Wings. However, he will now be out of hockey for an indefinite amount of time. He will then need to be reinstated by the league when he feels ready for that.
"Jack Campbell has entered the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistant Program and will be away from the #redwings for an indefinite period of time.

Wishing him the best."
Campbell has previously played for teams like the Edmonton Oilers and even the Toronto Maple Leafs. He has had his ups and downs in the league but he remained a goaltender that fans root for. That will continue to be the case given his current predicament. Hockey fans always come together for their own.
We wish Campbell all the best during this very difficult time. It is never easy to admit that you need help. Throughout the years, the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program has helped a ton of stars like Patrik Laine, and many others. Overall, it is the best way to get on top of any issues you may be having off of the ice. It is good to see the NHL offering this to its players.
