The Edmonton Oilers are hoping to force a Game 7 of the series after rallying from a 3-0 deficit, and they will have the enthusiasm of the home fans on their side tonight. Perhaps tonight, the mocking by the home crowd at Rogers Place went a little too far.
Oilers supporters taunted Florida Panthers star goalie Sergei Bobrovsky by yelling "Sergei" during the whole performance of The Star-Spangled Banner during the playing of the American national anthem.
That was obviously a step too far for the home audience. All of this teasing is acceptable, but not while the national anthems are playing.
Despite suffering a snake bite early in the series, Edmonton has managed to find a way to get past Bobrovsky, scoring twelve goals in the previous three games.
Time will tell how intense the home crowd becomes, but they have undoubtedly made an impression thus far.
