Dallas Stars first rounder Lian Bichsel banned from Switzerland
It was announced earlier today that Dallas Stars first rounder Lian Bischel was banned from representing Switzerland from international competition for the next two years kid the 19 year old who was selected in 2022 was barred due to not attending a double call up in the world juniors in 2022 and 2024.
According to Swiss national coach Patrick Fischer, Bischel will not receive an invite to any international competition from his home country which will include the world cup In 2026.
"If it had been about the senior national team, Lian would probably have come. And that's not right. If I had called him up, I would have lost credibility and face with the team."
The 19 year old defenseman who stands at six foot 6 and 234 lbs was chosen by the stars in 2022, first round, 18th overall. He currently is working off an entry level contract worth $950,000 per season and he has spent his time with the Texas stars and Rogle BK of the SHL.
