In less than a month, the National Hockey League will hold its 2024 Entry Draft, and it looks like we may have our first major deal, involving first round picks as well.

The Chicago Blackhawks sent the 18th and 50th overall picks to the New York Islanders in exchange for the 20th, 54th, and 61st overall picks, the team revealed on social media.

"TRADE

2024 1st RD pick (#18 - NYI)
2024 2nd RD pick (#50 - NYI)

To New York #Isles
2024 1st RD pick (#20 - TBL)
2024 2nd RD pick (#54 - LAK)
2024 2nd RD pick (#61 - VAN)"

"#Isles News: The New York Islanders have acquired a first-round pick (#20) and two second-round picks (#54 and #61) in the 2024 NHL Draft from the Chicago Blackhawks, in exchange for the team's first-round pick (#18) and second-round pick (#50)."

It will be interesting to see who emerged victorious in this deal in the long run. These selections might ultimately have a big influence on the future of both the Islanders and Blackhawks organizations in the years to come.
