Now, numerous leagues require its players to wear cut-resistant neck guards. Otherwise, you cannot step on the ice. It is a good move, albeit one that remains controversial for some.
Over the course of the upcoming season, the Nottingham Panthers plan to honor Johnson in various different ways. For instance, it has been announced that they will be retiring his number 47.
All throughout last season, players in the league were wearing patches and stickers commemorating Johnson. There will also be the number 47 on the ice surface for the Panthers. This latest move will make sure that Johnson's legacy with the club will always live on.
