Player suspended after slashing an opponent in a very sensitive place
Players have been known to lose their heads in the midst of a battle on the ice. One player from the Elite Ice Hockey League (United Kingdom's pro hockey league) completely lost his marbles leading to some very questionable stick work.
Recently, in a game between the Dundee Stars and Nottingham Panthers, Panthers forward Didrik Henbrant slashed' Stars defender Sean Allen below the belt; take a look.
The slash in question was really a spear after Henbrant was by Allen behind the Stars net. Henbrant was obviously upset after getting hit and decided to put his stick between Allen's legs and spear him.
Given the obvious malicious intent behind the slash, it's surprising the Panthers forward only received a one game suspension. Henbrant has no prior suspensions in the league so that must've been taken into consideration.
