Devastating News As 17 Year Old Hockey Player Tragically Passes Away
Reporting on tragic events is always difficult, and the loss of a young hockey player is particularly heart-wrenching.
Hockey Worldwide on Instagram shared the devastating news that 17-year-old high school hockey player Mikayla McCarvel has passed away.
In a somber announcement, the post reads,
"With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we share that our teammate, Mikayla McCarvel, passed away last night. Please keep her family, friends, teammates, coaches, and all that knew her in your prayers."
McCarvel, who played 42 games for her Minnesota high school team, succumbed to injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident three weeks prior. The crash resulted in a brain injury and additional injuries for McCarvel.
Our deepest condolences extend to McCarvel's friends, family, teammates, and peers during this incredibly difficult time.
As a tribute to Mikayla's memory, the family has requested donations at Plant A Tree In Mikayla's Memory
