With the NHL regular season beginning on Wednesday, the Penguins are gearing up to play the New York Rangers. Today, it was revealed by Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet that Karlsson will likely play.

This is awesome news for the Pittsburgh Penguins and their fans. There has been a lot of worry around Karlsson, but it appears that these fears can go by the wayside now. Only time will tell whether or not he actually does suit up for that first game, and how effective he will be on the ice.
