Ivan Demidov was the fifth overall pick for the Montreal Canadiens in the most recent NHL Entry Draft and he is believed to be one of the most talented players in the 2024 pool.

This season, he is playing in Russia with SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL. This is a legendary franchise within the league and many are wondering how Demidov will do. So far, he has been pretty good as he has notched eight points in 10 games. However, his playing time has been downright awful as he isn't playing in the third period of games.
Moreover, it was discovered recently that Demidov was named as the 13th forward for SKA's upcoming game. Simply put, he isn't being given a fair shake despite his solid play thus far.
Habs fans love their team and they most certainly love their prospects. Consequently, it should come as no surprise that some Habs fans went off on the SKA St. Petersburg coach. In some tweets below, you can see that Canadiens fans are absolutely flabbergasted and downright enraged by what they are seeing right now.
Some of them believe that the Canadiens should just find a way to bring Demidov over the Montreal right now. Whether or not he would get a roster spot remains to be seen. However, he would likely be treated with much more respect over there.
