Ducks Rookie Is Forced To Leave The Game After Suffering Brutal Knee Injury
A clash between rising NHL stars turned sour when Leo Carlsson of the Anaheim Ducks suffered a knee-on-knee hit against the Chicago Blackhawks Alex Vlasic. The incident cast a shadow over what should have been a display of young talent.
During the game, Carlsson attempted to maneuver around the Blackhawks' defense but collided with Alex Vlasic, clutching his knee in pain. He was forced to exit the game and did not return.
In response, Ducks Ryan Strome sought retribution, challenging Vlasic to a fight early in the third period.
Although Carlsson managed to leave the arena independently after the game, the effects of the collision were evident.
"Leo Carlsson able to leave the arena on his own with a slight limp. Reassuring to see after what looked to be a potentially serious injury. Should know more in the coming days."
Despite being drafted second overall after Bedard, Carlsson has made a solid impact, tallying 9 goals and 24 points in his first 43 NHL games.
