In the hockey world, players getting cut is unfortunately becoming too common.

In a recent match between Bars Kazan and Metallurg Novokuznetsk in the All-Russian Hockey League (VHL), a tense moment unfolded. Barça's Ravil Yakupov, while navigating through opponents, took a fall, lifting his leg high. Behind him was Kuznya's defender Vitaly Lyulko. In the fall, Yakupov's skate connected with Lyulko's neck.

Lyulko, swift to react, shed his gear and clutched his throat. Despite reaching the substitutes' bench on his own, he needed immediate medical attention. Reportedly, he was taken off on a stretcher and transported to the hospital by ambulance. Notably, Lyulko wasn't wearing neckguards, unlike some other players.

This incident serves as a chilling reminder of the tragedy in the EIHL that led to the passing of Adam Johnson.

Following the game, Lyulko's head coach Valeri Belov provided a positive update on the injured player.

"Everything is fine with Vitali Lyulko; the artery is not damaged, and the vessel has been sutured. Vitaly remains here in Kazan. We don't know yet how long he will stay here. The worst, thank God, is over. We wish Vitali good health."
