Senators Captain Breaks The Code & Lays A Massive Hit After The Whistle
In hockey, there's an unspoken Code that all players know they should follow. You don't mess with the goalie after the whistle, you answer the bell after a bad hit, and when a play is offside, you stop playing. It's common sense, and every hockey player gets it. Mess with the Code, and the other team won't be pleased.
Tonight, the Ottawa Senators are facing off against the Dallas Stars. Brady Tkachuk, the Sens' captain, is known for pushing the boundaries and playing the role of agitator. However, he went too far this time.
As Dallas defender Miro Heiskanen tries to stay onside, he accidentally goes offside. Instead of doing the right thing and stopping, Tkachuk decides to throw a massive hit.
Predictably, this sparks a commotion as Stars players express their displeasure with the untimely hit. Tkachuk's game plan involves getting under the skin of the opposition, but there are limits, and this is a play that shouldn't have happened.
