MacEwen and Gadjovich fought after long warmup chat
It seemed inevitable that Ottawa Senators Zach MacEwen and Florida Panthers Jonah Gadjovich were going to drop the gloves after a long discussion during warmups. In the opening minutes of the first period, both players didn't waste time and decided to settle their discussion.
Both players were former teammates in Vancouver and it seemed that this was all staged as the fight did not go on for long with Gadjovich throwing extra hooks into MacEwen before the fight broke up.
Both teams are heading in different directions as the Panthers are preparing for the first round of the playoffs and playing out the season. Meanwhile, the senators are still sifting through their disastrous season as this team was pegged to take the next steps and become a playoff team with a solid core of players and a goaltender that was supposed to solve their trouble at the net.
It remains to be seen what the Senators will do this offseason as the team will continue to build it's new management team and work towards the draft which will be held in Las Vegas at the end of June.
