There is a massive slate of NHL games on right now, including a tilt between the Vancouver Canucks and the Calgary Flames who are pretty sizable rivals.

At one point in the game, JT Miller found himself with the puck where he eventually collided with Flames player Kevin Rooney. This led to a huge hit near the boards that launched Rooney into the glass. He was down for quite some time and it seemed to be completely out of it.
Subsequently, Miller was jumped by various Flames players. Clearly, they were not happy to see their teammate go down like that. Thankfully, Rooney was able to get up on his own and eventually got off of the ice under his own power. Having said that, it was still a very scary scene overall.
You have to admit that Miller getting jumped like that was not very fair. It was a clean hit and it wasn't even a hit that he was trying to do in the first place. It is yet another example of teams and players jumping the gun out of some arbitrary need for revenge.
Having said that, the season is finally here and players are all excited to get out there and expel their pent up energy. When you keep that in perspective, you begin to understand how this all played out.
Do you believe that Miller deserved to get jumped like that? Was this a huge overreaction?
