Cole Caufield is considered to be the best goal-scorer on the Montreal Canadiens, and against the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight, he notched his first goal of the season.

As many of you already know, he changed his number from 22 to 13 in the offseason in honor of Johnny Gaudreau. Considering this change, many figured that Caufield's first tally would be an emotional one. That turned out to be the case as he pointed towards the heavens following his big goal.
The goal itself was a nice one-timer in the first period that had Anthony Stolarz moving from left to right. It beat him blocker side and the Bell Centre faithful were ecstatic about the goal. That was always going to be the case given the circumstances.
At the time of writing this, the Montreal Canadiens are up on the Toronto Maple Leafs by a score of 1-0. This is mostly thanks to Sam Montembeault who has been absolutely off the charts today. While the game is far from over, there is no doubt that Habs fans should be optimistic about their goaltending situation.
As for Caufield, this is the year for him to take a leap. Fans want to see him get above 30 goals. Nick Suzuki did it, and it is now time for Caufield to do it as well. Hopefully, Habs fans are able to finally get their wish.
