Alexander Ovechkin is a Washington Capitals legend who is consistently making the franchise proud, especially in his older age.

Six years ago, he won the team its first Stanley Cup in franchise history. These days, he continues to make history, even if the team is not expected to do a whole lot. Last night, the Capitals actually played in their season opener where they went up against the New Jersey Devils, a team that some feel could win the Cup this year.

In that game, the Capitals ended up losing by a score of 5-3. Ovechkin had himself an assist, but he also had a pretty hilarious highlight. Below, you can see that Ovi went to hit a Devils player. While he did just that, he also ended up putting the linesman right into the Devils bench.

Of course, this was an accident and Ovechkin never actually got into trouble for it. At the end of the day, no one was actually harmed here.

At this stage, Ovechkin has bigger things to worry about. For instance, he is attempting to become the greatest scorer in the entire history of the National Hockey League. He is 41 goals away from tying Wayne Gretzky's record. Meanwhile, he needs 42 to break it. While getting to the record will be no easy task, if anyone can do it, it would be Ovi. Hopefully, he is able to do it soon.
