Las Vegas Golden Knights expand to Arizona: it's official for the Coyotes
Overall, the Las Vegas Golden Knights have proven to be a competent franchise, much unlike the Arizona Coyotes who just moved to Utah.
Arizona Coyotes fans have had it rough over the years. Multiple arena changes have left some supporters stranded. Furthermore, it was becoming clearer and clearer that the product on the ice was not even worth watching. The club has been terrible for years and it has been clear as day that hockey just simply was not working in the desert.
Now, it would appear as though the Golden Knights are trying to take on Coyotes fans who might be looking for a team. According to a new announcement, Scripps Sports will be producing local broadcasts for Golden Knights games in both Tucson and Phoenix. This means Coyotes fans can now watch their rival out in Las Vegas without having to jump through hoops.
"As the intense fandom around hockey grows, we know how important it is for the Vegas Golden Knights to reach their expanding fanbase on every device and platform," said Scripps Sports President Brian Lawlor. "These new Scripps Sports-produced local broadcasts, combined with Knight Time+, will make sure that fans in the Phoenix and Tucson markets never have to miss a game."
It will be interesting to see if the Coyotes fans will migrate over to Las Vegas, or if they will migrate over to Utah Hockey Club. One could argue that those fans probably won't go to any team. There were loyal Coyotes supporters and now, they have been disenfranchised.
