The NHL Doesn't Allow Logan Thompson To Show His Support To Breast Cancer
Logan Thompson, the rising star goaltender for the Vegas Golden Knights, faced an unexpected roadblock when the NHL denied his request to feature a breast cancer ribbon on his helmet design.
Despite making a remarkable impact as the No. 1 goalie for the team during the 2022-23 season, filling in for injured players Robin Lehner and Laurent Brossoit, Thompson's initiative to support breast cancer awareness through his helmet design was met with refusal.
His stellar performance, starting the season 8-2-0 and tying Marc-Andre Fleury's record for most wins in the first 10 games, coupled with his selection for the 2023 Honda NHL All-Star Game, highlights Thompson's prowess on the ice.
The league's decision, however, has sparked discussions about the limitations players face in expressing personal causes on their equipment.
