Toronto Maple Leafs PTO signee already injured just days into camp
Steven Lorentz was signed by the Toronto Maple Leafs to a PTO this offseason and now, he has an opportunity to show the team what he can do.
Unfortunately, his tenure with the team is off to a bit of a bad start. According to Mark Masters, he has suffered an upper-body injury and is not at camp today. That does not bode well for his chances of making the team. However, there is still time for him to ultimately recover and show people exactly what he can do.
Lorentz was with the Florida Panthers last season and is credited with winning a Stanley Cup. However, he did not get very much playing time with the team. Instead, he was more of a plug-and-play type guy when there were injuries in the lineup.
Regardless, the Leafs are giving him an opportunity to start fresh and show people exactly what he can do. Only time will tell whether or not this injury ends up getting in the way of that.
Do you believe Lorentz will make the Toronto Maple Leafs? Let us know in the poll down below and stay tuned to Hockey Unplugged for the latest news and updates from around the hockey world.
