The DoPS Has Released When Morgan Rielly's In-Person Hearing Will Happen
Morgan Rielly's actions during during a recent game against Ottawa have landed him in hot water, as he delivered a cross-check to Senators forward Ridley Greig's face, prompting the Department of Player Safety to take action.
The league has set the time and place for Rielly's in-person hearing, scheduled for Tuesday, February 13th, in the afternoon at the NHL's New York office.
"Rielly's in-person hearing will be held Tuesday afternoon at the NHL's New York office," stated the league.
This decision follows the Department of Player Safety's announcement of an in-person hearing for the 29-year-old defenseman, indicating the seriousness of the offense committed during the previous game.
In-person hearings are reserved for particularly egregious incidents, allowing the league to consider suspensions exceeding five games, the maximum for phone hearings.
With speculation rife about the potential length of Rielly's suspension, all eyes will be on the outcome of Tuesday's hearing. Stay tuned for updates on the veteran blueliner's fate.
