Stanley Cup champion gets gifted with fresh start with the Toronto Maple Leafs
Today, the Toronto Maple Leafs decided to add some depth to their team in time for training camp as Steven Lorentz is coming in on a PTO.
The center has played for the Carolina Hurricanes, the San Jose Sharks, and most recently, the Florida Panthers. He won the Stanley Cup this past season and has been looking for a new NHL home ever since. Now, he must work hard for his place on the Maple Leafs, who are have a championship or bust mentality right about now.
Lorentz did not have a phenomenal season production-wise with the Panthers last season. He has a total of 3 points in 38 games with the team. He had the same amount of points in 16 playoff matches. At this point, there is no telling if he would even make the Toronto Maple Leafs.
