With training camp on the horizon, it was becoming as clear as day that Krug would not be ready to go. Now, Sportsnet is confirming the worst. Krug will have to undergo surgery on his ankle. Consequently, he will be missing all of next season. Needless to say, not ideal for either party.
Krug has been a stud defenseman for years at this point. Across the Boston Bruins and St. Louis Blues, Krug has played in a total of 778 games and has also scored a total of 483 points. He will certainly be missed this season as the Blues will have to now scramble and replace him.
