Ryan O'Reilly is an NHL player who has a Stanley Cup under his belt with the St. Louis Blues.

Just a few years ago, O'Reilly found himself on the Toronto Maple Leafs, who had Stanley Cup aspirations. However, after playing with the roster, he realized it just wasn't for him. Subsequently, he signed with the Nashville Predators where he has remained ever since.
In a new episode of the Empty Netters Podcast, O'Reilly's alleged feelings about the Toronto Maple Leafs were revealed. As it turns out, behind closed doors, O'Reilly felt like the Maple Leafs core did not have a winning mentality, and that they would never win anything.

"I was talking to someone who knows Ryan O'Reilly very well, and he had talked about his time in Toronto and was like, 'certain people on this Toronto team will ne- ' He like, went to management and was like 'Blank, blank, and blank will never win, and I don't want to be here anymore,' And he's not saying that about the people in his locker room right now."

These are some strong words, and one has to assume they are being directed at the likes of Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner. They are two players who have been criticized for their playoff performances in the past. While O'Reilly did not mention them directly, they certainly would be the main targets of such comments.
