Max Pacioretty gets brutally honest about recent scratches
Max Pacioretty was signed to a PTO with the Toronto Maple Leafs in the offseason and eventually, he made the team.
However, following the first few games of the season, Pacioretty became a healthy scratch. It wasn't a great situation, especially since he is still trying to prove that he can play at a high level. That said, last night, he was a healthy scratch yet again, which does not bode well for him and his standing with the team, moving forward.
Ultimately, this is not a great look for Pacioretty and the media has been curious about what this means for him moving forward. While speaking to a Toronto Sun reporter, Pacioretty officially gave his take on the situation and how he feels about all of the recent scratches.
"I'm dealing with it the best I can, just work. I'm at this stage of my career for a reason. Would I rather be playing? Of course, anyone would rather be playing, but at the same time, I know I can help the team, even when I'm not playing."
Patches still has gas left in the tank. Having said that, it is not easy to make an NHL lineup. Craig Berube is also very demanding and has proven to be a guy who does not take sides. Having said that, it will be very interesting to see how he decides to move forward with this team.
