Anthony Stolarz started for the Toronto Maple Leafs last night although his team ended up losing the game by a score of 4-1 against the New York Rangers.

During the game, Stolarz went viral for a moment in which he lost a skate blade. This has happened before but it usually happens to players. They try to get back to the bench but it ends up being a hilarious scene. Yesterday, it happened to a goalie and Stolarz was stuck on the ground. Eventually, he was helped to the bench by his teammates once there was a stoppage.

When this went down, Stolarz was absolutely livid with the officials for continuing on with the game. He felt as though the respectful thing would have been to create a stoppage. However, that is not what happened. After the game, Stolarz spoke out about player safety and how a call should have been made.

"It's about player safety. I'm sitting there not realizing and kicking out, and your groin is just kinda going.... If it's an imminent scoring chance, I understand it, but the puck is at the other end. I don't really understand why they can just blow it."

Only time will tell whether or not the league chooses to do something about all of this. At the end of the day, player safety needs to be a top priority. If it isn't, then some pretty awful accidents could end up happening, and no one wants that.
