Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery went postal on Brad Marchand on Saturday night as the Boston Bruins took on the Utah Hockey Club.

Brad Marchand had a pretty rough offseason as he had to get surgery on multiple parts of his body due to injuries. Furthermore, he had to deal with the disappointment of losing a playoff series to the Florida Panthers. However, Marchand has used his captain abilities to demonstrate leadership and get this team to where they have to be.

Having said all of that, Marchand has had a decent start to the year. In the first six games he has been able to pull together a total of four points. However, last night, he had a costly turnover that led to a goal. Albeit, a called back goal. In the video down below, you can see how Montgomery went off on his captain in a pretty significant way.

In the end, the Boston Bruins lost by a score of 2-1 in overtime. The Utah Hockey Club is off to a hot start and it continues to look like this is a team destined for a Cinderella run to the Stanley Cup playoffs.

As for the Bruins, it is good to see Montgomery choosing to hold his captain accountable. Just because someone is your captain, doesn't mean you have to coddle them and treat them with kid gloves. That would be doing the entire team a huge disservice.
